Guest and member introductions, 13 members attended in person.
Approval of 01-08-25 meeting’s minutes. Motion was made to approve by Randy (AG5QC) and seconded by Keith (K5FS). The vote was unanimous with no objections.
Treasurer Report: Donovan (K2AH) indicated that we will attempt to get treasurer’s information on the agenda to streamline the agenda. Ed (KF5EIG) Updated Club Balances with with a beginning balance of 18,218.56. Most of the credits were from Dues payments. He would continue monitoring credit/debit process to ensure things would not be missed. Motion to approve by Shelia (KI5IPS), seconded by Randy (AG5QC).
President’s Remarks: President Donovan (K2AH) made the President’s remarks and introduction.
a. March 1st is the date on which membership renewals are due. He will be sending out a reminder email. Members can check with club Secretary if needed for status of membership.
b. Rocky Mountain Ham will once again be hosting their annual Tech Fest Feb 22 in Albuquerque, or via Zoom on-line Meeting.
New Business:
a. Update on DOH FCC Licensing by Tim (W5TNM) Tim (W5TNM) and Ron N. conducted classes and training in January, ten exams with all passing.
b. David (KJ5DFQ) spoke on the Science Fair at Taos Middle School involving individual student achievements including radio construction, soldering coding and weekly (Wednesday) conversations with club members. February 28th will entail 2 sessions. Email was sent out to google groups, with AM session beginning at 8:00 am, demonstrating projects, challenging students. PM session at 12:30-2:00 pm will be competitions, including robotics, soldering, and builds. David (KJ5DFQ) also indicated excitement for recruiting other faculty at other schools to join in this exciting process.
Old Business
a. Grants Update: Keith (K5FS)– We will be executing (grant number 3?) with school. He met with all the teachers and principal at the Arroyos Del Norte Elementary School with an update on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how this may help them with their jobs. He further explained real world examples of how AI is assisting other educators. He further updated club members on the possibilities of using AI and exploring the different models available for use with real world examples of use by various professions. He indicated that the amount of money being invested in AI is substantial. Keith (K5FS) fielded questions from members present on some of the different AI models, capabilities and cost.
b. TARC social media FB and Instagram presence – No updates from Darien (NM5DF).
c. ARES update: No updates from Donovan (K2AH) specifically, but he explained how we as a club, when participating in Town of Taos events are essentially performing ARES basic functions, and that we should be prepared to provide services this year.

Donovan (K2AH) Updated members present about the structural change to the meetings with a streamlining of the actual business meeting, to allow for technical presentations at the close of the business portion, with a request of members to consider presenting technical projects, demonstrations or information. Members can reach out to officers with suggestions, ideas or scheduling.
Business Meeting Close: Motion was made to approve by ED (KF5EIG) and seconded by Tim (W5TNM).
